I invite you to join me on a pilgrimage. On Tuesday, May 29th I start on the Camino de Santiago, a 500 pilgrimage mile route across northern Spain. It starts in France, crosses the Pyrenees, goes through Pamplona and Leon, and finishes in Santiago de Compostela at the Cathedral of St. James. Pilgrims have been following this route for 1,100 years.
I plan on running the Camino. With a goal of 30 miles / 50 km per day, the pilgrimage should take 17-19 days. I’ve never done anything like this before and really don’t know if I can do it. The longest I’ve run is 50 miles. Yes, I am crazy!
Join me on this journey. Learn with me about faith, suffering, caring for our common home, and what we can do today to help our planet.

Why am I doing this?
You can read here about why I’m going and how this run is linked to Catholic Energies.
What is Catholic Energies?
Catholic Energies takes the burden of reducing energy waste off already thinly-stretched Catholic organizations. We serve as a single point of contact to help you execute energy procurement, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage projects. I am on the Advisory Board.
Catholic Energies is a program of Catholic Climate Covenant, which I serve on the board of.
How are we all called to care for our common home?
Wow, this is an important question. The short answer is that Pope Francis calls us to care for our common home, the planet, in his 2016 encyclical (letter) Laudato Si. I will surely write more about this in the future.
